Walking through our vineyard, you will find a large gap between two hillsides. This gap is made obvious by the location of our vines and by decades of driving our tractor through here. At the top of this gap is where you will find our small block of Chardonnay. At less than two total acres, it's small but mighty. This block has been showcased in our sparkling wines, but we make an Estate Chardonnay in our exceptional years.
A Note from Winemaker, Leo Gabica
"I love surprising people with our Chardonnay. So often, I find that Chardonnay can be polarizing: either people are looking for bold oak flavors or are adamantly against it. Our vineyard site is a true cool climate, we have beautiful sun exposure during the day with cool temperatures overnight. This allows the Chardonnay to ripen and retain vibrant acidity. After the Chardonnay was picked by hand, we began the fermentation process in stainless steel. My goal is to highlight the aromatics and showcase this acidity. After fermentation, we put 54% in French oak barrels for 10 months. This percentage of the Chardonnay went through Malolactic Fermentation to soften the acidity and bring complexity to the wine. After 10 months, we blended the Chardonnay and bottled. We don't always make an Estate Chardonnay, only in exceptional years. Please enjoy, cheers."

One sip will transport you to the Oregon coast. Whispers of minerality, lively acidity, and complex layers of flavor will complement any seafood dish. We especially love crab cakes or fish with cream sauce. If you love Chardonnay, especially a cool-climate, this will be your new favorite. If you think you don't like Chardonnay, we invite you to allow this wine to change your mind.
