"The aromas are effusive, with notes of flower, lime leaf, ginger, and tangerine peel, showing a touch of age. Dry, medium-bodied flavors follow, with pleasing focus." - Sean P. Sullivan, Northwest Wine Report
Over the centuries of production, Riesling has undergone many transformations, and we are here for its resurgence. This varietal is often a favorite of highly esteemed sommeliers, yet it still faces the misconception that it is only overly sweet. This is a wine that we love to surprise guests within our tasting room - especially those who say out loud, "I hate Riesling; it's so sweet!" Well, friends, this wine is here to show you the versatility of Riesling. You will smell the signature floral aromas of a Riesling, but as you take a sip - layers of crisp pear and a zip of lemon zest are followed by sparks of lemongrass.
A Note from Winemaker, Leo Gabica
"We have been working with Foris Vineyards for 8 years. I enjoy the fruit profile from their vineyard site and how it blends with the acids we get from our vineyard. The Riesling comes from Foris' Cedar Ranch vineyard site - they have been caring for the land for over 20 years before planting 47 acres of vines in 2008. They are the southernmost vineyard site in Oregon, just 8 miles from the California border. This allows the vineyard to soak in the warm sun with sandy loam soils. A contrast from our cool-climate site with Willakenzie soil. The 2022 vintage was a challenge in the beginning with a very late frost; however, the remaining growing season was near perfect, allowing the low yield to be stellar quality. Both our vineyard site and Foris were harvested at the end of October. We gently pressed the fruit to extract the juice, then fermented in stainless steel at low temperatures to preserve the aromatics and acidity."

The acidity of this wine lends to beautiful food pairings. You can keep your food pairings simple with grilled chicken, fish tacos, goat cheese, and crackers. We love the suggestion to wow dinner parties with grilled snapper topped with lime, jalapeño, and tomatillo salsa. This is a great wine to enjoy all spring and summer, then use to transport you to a sunny place when the cooler days of autumn and winter set in.
