Our Founder, Dan, loved Sauvignon Blanc - or “Sauvy” as he called it. If you caught him on our patio, he was either having a beer or glass of “Sauvy”. This varietal has been made famous in two different areas of the world : New Zealand and France. We like to craft our Sauvignon Blanc to meet in the middle. You will pick up notes of grapefruit and guava - no wonder we call it a vacation in a glass.
A Note from Winemaker, Leo Gabica
“The Sauvignon Blanc is almost always the first fruit in for harvest. Our energy is almost unbridled as the truck pulls up with the bins holding our Sauvignon Blanc. I source our fruit from Quail Run Vineyard in the Rogue Valley AVA and Parker Vineyard in the Umpqua Valley AVA. Being located in the South Willamette Valley is really ideal - I can grow the classic Willamette Valley varietals, expressive of our cool-climate site, but also work with vineyards in Southern Oregon. We received the fruit from Quail Run on Labor Day weekend - the first fruit in for the 2021 harvest. Dan’s great-grandchildren (age 3) serve as my un-official taste testers - I hold back my laughter when I tell the truck driver he can’t deliver until they approve the fruit. I know Dan would have appreciated this prank. Much to the relief of the driver, they approved the fruit and we officially kicked off the 2021 harvest. I hope this wine brings out your lighthearted and playful side.”
