Our 2021 Estate Pinot Noir displays deep cherry and pomegranate notes that build on the palate, leading to more subtle notes of vanilla and toasted hazelnut. Crafted from three separate blocks on our estate, it comes together as our history in a bottle. This particular vintage has full ripeness, but still maintains the classic Willamette Valley acidity. Our 2021 Estate Pinot Noir captures the finesse and grace that is well known from our sweeping hillsides.

A Note from Winemaker, Leo Gabica

"This was a wine that many of us couldn't wait to get into the bottle. We aged it for 13 months in French oak barrels, 47% new oak, 24% second-use and 29% third-use. When I harvest our vineyard, I keep all of our blocks separate and as they progress through fermentation, I begin to think about the story I want to tell with the wines. The two blocks that I traditionally blend together are our 777 clone, 'Boss Man' block, and our 115 clone, Kody block. We named 'Boss Man' after our Founder, Dan. It's the Pinot Noir that our guests are seated next to on our patio, and always has the right spark of acidity - just like our Boss Man. Our youngest block, planted in 2001, was named for Dan's black lab dog, Kody. This block also has a vibrancy in the flavor profile that I really enjoy. I wanted to add a touch more depth with some darker fruit notes, so I decided our third block in the blend would be our Grandpa's Block. This clone of Pinot Noir is Mariafeld Clone 23, it was the first block on our estate and planted when Oregon was still very much in the 'pioneer' days. I already have a stockpile of this wine at my home, it's going to be a wine to enjoy for many years to come. Cheers."
