Our 2020 Chardonnay is a reminder of the versatility that can be achieved with our cool-climate vineyard site. We aged 50% in oak and kept 50% in stainless steel tanks. Enjoy a depth of citrus and green apple flavors, elegantly balanced with apricot and a touch of vanilla. The texture achieved with our soft oak will wrap around you like a blanket on an early autumn evening.
A Note from Winemaker, Leo Gabica
“One of my favorite moments as a winemaker is sharing a wine that immediately surprises you. It's common for our tasting room to hear a guest comment they don't care for Chardonnay - and that same guest to carry a bottle (or a case) to their car after a visit. We hand harvest our vineyard's small block of Chardonnay that grows on the southernmost hillside. Our vineyard has a great airflow that allows for the fruit to ripen really nicely. With this vintage, I wanted to highlight the flavor profile and add a soft texture by aging 50% of the wine in our French oak barrels. I really enjoy showcasing the vibrancy that you may not expect from a Chardonnay by only aging part of the wine in French oak. I dare you tell me you still don't enjoy Chardonnay after trying our 2020 vintage.”

While enjoying this wine, it brings us memories of our Founder, Dan, when he would take our crew fishing out of Newport, Oregon every year prior to harvest. This wine pairs perfectly with fresh crab cakes or while savoring every bite of your favorite risotto recipe.
